Minecraft Color Theory: Texturing and Gradients

Gradients are the secret sauce of professional builders. To create realistic shadowing on a tower, start with deepslate at the very bottom, blend it softly into tuff as it goes up, move to regular stone, then andesite, and top the tower off with light gray concrete powder or diorite. The gradient fakes lighting conditions and simulates weathering naturally across massive blank spaces.
